Instructions in Detail

Continue reading for more detailed instructions and game rules.

Bomb Count

In the corner of the screen you will see the Bomb counter. In this example, we have 26 Bombs to locate, to complete the level.

Bomb or No Bomb?

Use logic and deduction to work out where bombs are hidden. Click with the RIGHT mouse button if you think there is a Bomb in a box. Click with the LEFT mouse button if you think there is not a Bomb inside a box.

If you are correct, the empty boxes are removed and Bombs are revealed!

Defuse by Dunking!

Here you see two bombs that have been revealed. These Bombs must be defused by dunking them into the water. In order to Dunk these Bombs, the box below them must be revealed.

Number Clues

The numbers located on the inside of the board tell you how many Bombs are adjacent. Each number has a maximum of 8 possible blocks around it.

In this example, there are 8 boxes around this box, but only 3 of them contain a Bomb.

In this example, we're looking at the blue and pink boxes at the bottom of the highlighted area. The number two (shown in Red), indicates that both of these boxes must contain a Bomb.

In this next example, the number 2 (shown in Red), indicates that only two of the 4 surrounding boxes will contain a Bomb. In this situation you would have a 50% chance of guessing where the bombs are!

In this final example, the number 3 (shown in Red), indicates all 3 of the surrounding boxes must contain a Bomb! In this case you would be safe to Reveal the Bombs.

With this logic alone you can often reveal most of the board.

Rows and Columns

The numbers along the top of the screen tell you how many Bombs (Hidden or Revealed) are located in that column. Sometimes this can help locate remaining bombs, particularly when you have revealed many other boxes. The numbers running down the right side of the screen tell you how many Bombs are located on that row.

Be Careful!

Be careful not to make a mistake near revealed bombs! If you make a wrong guess, there will be an explosion!

Any adjacent bombs will be caught up in the chain reaction, reducing your end of level bonus points!

Be Warned!

If you ever see these warning symbols next to your pointer. Be very careful with your next move! The green Question Mark means there is no logical way of making a safe move. There will be 15%-35% or more chance of making an error; so you must use some guesswork.

The yellow Exclamation Mark means there is a 35%-50% chance of making an error! You must use guesswork and some good luck!
