Kaskade Instructions
Game Basics
The object of the game is to slide the 2x2 sets of blocks into the game area to join up 4 or more blocks of the same color. The game area is a diamond shape and blocks can only be placed in the top rows as the diagram to the right shows. The blocks slide down into the game area and settle towards the bottom corner.
Use the Right Mouse Button, or the Mouse Wheel (or Space bar on Mac) to rotate the blocks giving you the best angle to match up colors.
The first picture on the right shows a block sliding into place from above to create a patch of joining red blocks. The second picture shows the 4 red blocks being removed from the game and 4 points are awarded for each block. The 3 blocks above (Green, Red, and Blue) will later fall down and rest against the blocks below.
Block Colors
The game creates the 2x2 set of blocks using a set of blocks of 6 different colors. Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple and Black.
In the first level you will get very few Purple and Black blocks but in later levels the mix of block colors gets increasingly difficult to work with.
In later levels you will be given 'Blocker' Blocks. These Blockers can not be removed by creating patches. They can only be removed using the special objects.
Special Objects
| The Eraser is a special Object that can be used to wipe out a strip of blocks. Up to 10 blocks can be removed by sliding the Eraser through them. The Eraser can be used to remove the Blockers!
|
| The Bomb works in a similar way to the Eraser but it will explode an area rather than a strip. Up to 15 blocks can be removed by the impact of a Bomb. The Bomb can be used to remove the Blockers!
|
| The final special object is the trap door located in the bottom corner of the game area. The Trap Door opens on a regular basis allowing one block to fall through. Blocks will slowly fall down through the Trap Door. It's a good idea to place blockers as close to the door as possible.
