Sneech is a Video Game designed and programmed by myself (Paul Burkey) and was first
available for the Amiga® computer system in 1994. Sneech is my all time favourite game
and I'm very proud of it. I'm not just saying that because I made it; I've since completed
many other Projects for Windows,
Apple Mac, Amiga® Pocket PC, and also Games for iPhone. I am still happy to say that Sneech is still the best arcade game ever! :)
The game was originally developed in 1993 when I decided to have a go at writing my own
version of the classic "Worms" game. Some people know the game as Snake, Tron, Light
Cycles or one of many other names. More recently, the game genre was made famous by
Nokia Snake. I used to enjoy playing Snake 2 on my old Nokia 7110! Sneech is certainly
not a mainstream game (although the popularity of Nokia Snake may help this) but for
some who have spent time learning the subtle and sometimes surreal game play, there is
a lot of fun to be had! For those special people who have been caught up in the Sneech
frenzy it's a very special game!
After some years involved in commercial game development and game porting, I
returned to shareware in 2002 with my game BoXiKoN. Since then I've developed
a large number of new games and also remade one of my old Amiga games
called PegIt. I always had plans to remake Sneech, but never had the time
to devote to it, and didn't see much room for such a game in the modern gaming world, until now?
Latest News - Sneech Future
A few years passed and now I have an iPhone! It took me a year to finally take
a good look at the iPhone SDK but now I'm hooked! I've not been so excited about
developing games since the Amiga days!
Classic Sneech
I found this cool video of sneech on YouTube!
The game kept me busy for over a year with further development and updates. It has
appeared on more Amiga® cover disks and CD's than I can remember and I have continued
to receive many letters and emails from addicted Sneechers all over the world!
I compiled the final version of "Classic Sneech" in 1999 especially for download
from the Sneech Homepage. This version will only work on Amiga® or one of
the Amiga® Emulators.
SneechV152.lha - 432K (Final AmigaOS Version - 11th June 1999)
I'm sorry I can't provide additional software, roms or additional help on setting
up the game on an emulator, I gave up using amigas in any form a long time ago!
